Terry Jones
Media Terry Jones received an AA degree from Florida College, Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Mass Communication and Ancient History from the University of South Florida. He has covered the sport of wrestling as a journalist for the St. Petersburg Times (15 years), Tampa Tribune (7 years), and the Brandon News (6 years). During that time Terry has written dozens of articles reporting on wrestlers and coaches, programs and competitions. His writing style helps to promote our sport and edify fans and participants alike. In 1998 at the age of 57 Terry spent three weeks training and wrestling with the Brandon, East Bay and Gaither High School wrestling teams for a first person story for the St. Petersburg Times. He wrote first hand the grueling and intense training that high school wrestlers endure daily. Terry received a concussion and torn rotator cuff but the story was picked up by the wire! Terry has served as Senior Pastor at Christ Center Fellowship Church for 22 years. During that time he has officiated the wedding of three wrestling coaches. He has financially supported athletes in training for their Olympic quest. But most of all he has helped the average reader understand a little more about the sport we love.
