Keven Glider

July 21, 1961 - Present

Keven Glider dedicated over 30 years of his life to teaching and coaching wrestling at the high school level in addition to club programs in the Gem State of Idaho. Hailing from the great wrestling state of Iowa, Keven graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines and was a three year high school letter winner. He then moved to Idaho where he attended Ricks College followed by Brigham Young University where he graduated in 1991 to pursue a career in teaching. After one season as an assistant coach at Pleasant Grove High School in Utah, Keven returned to Idaho and began his teaching career in the Sugar-Salem School District where he taught and coached for over 30 years. Throughout his long tenure, Keven coached at several schools, which included Head coaching position Aberdeen HS, South Fremont HS, Madison HS, and Sugar-Salem HS. Additionally, he coached Freestyle while at Aberdeen and helped develop the Ace’s Wrestling Club.  Furthermore, Keven was known by his peers as a very well organized and committed coach to all the kids he coached through the years. According to Brad Hansen, an assistant coach to Keven, “Coach takes pride in the kids and recognizes them as they reach goals and accomplishments…He was always there and listened.”  Among the many district and state placers, he had the opportunity to coach throughout his long coaching tenure include Caleb Norman (3x State Champion), Kenny Copley (2x State Champion), as well as his two sons, Jake (State Champion) and Kolton (2x State Champion. On top of that, while at Sugar-Salem, his teams were Academic State Champions in 2018 and 2019, respectively. What’s more, his 2018 team became the first 3A school in Idaho to ever with the tough Tiger-Grizz Tournament. For all his hard work and commitment to the sport, Keven earned several Coach-of-the-Year awards, which include District VI (2018), Post Register (2018), Keith Williams 3A (2018), and the Idaho Coaches Association in 2019.
