Mitch Domagala

July 29, 1968 - Present

Mitch Domagala is a celebrated coach and educator who dedicated 30 years to developing young athletes and leaders in Nevada. From 1994 to 2022, Mitch served as the head wrestling coach at Battle Mountain High School, where he established a legacy of excellence, capturing 17 State Team Championships and securing four State Team Runners-Up finishes. Under his guidance, Battle Mountain also won 18 Northern Nevada Regional Championships.

Mitch’s remarkable coaching career includes a dual record of 458-123-3, the mentoring of 94 individual state champions, 241 state placers, and 6 high school All-Americans. Eleven of his athletes went on to compete at the collegiate level. Mitch’s philosophy emphasized preparation and personal growth over outcomes, helping his athletes build confidence and leadership skills.

Before his time at Battle Mountain, Mitch coached at Tonopah High School (1992–1994), where his teams earned two top-five state tournament finishes, and Loyola High School in Missoula, Montana (1991–1992), where he started a wrestling program from scratch. In addition to wrestling, Mitch also coached football, serving as both an assistant and head coach throughout his career.
