Rick Bailey was a 1986 graduate of East Fairmont High School, where he wrestled his freshman year under Mike Kent. In 1993, after serving in the US Navy, Rick moved back home, gradu- ated from West Virginia University, and went to work in the family business.

He began his coaching career with East Fairmont Jr. Wrestling Club in 1995 as an assistant coach for Ray Robe along with Mike Morris. In 2003, East Fairmont Jr. High Coach Shane Eakle asked Rick to join the staff, where they created Quest in the Nest Tournament which is still a premier Middle School Tourney in WV.
