Frank Pettineo

Coach Frank has been active in coaching wrestling in South Florida for 25 years. He became head coach at Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1988 where he remains today. Coach Pettineo's teams have won 3 FHSAA 1A State Championships, 9 Regional Championships, 17 consecutive District Championships, and 8 Broward County Championships. His wrestler's accomplishments include 55 State place winners, including 12 individual State Champions, 51 Regional Champions, 132 District Champions, and 162 County Championship place winners. Cardinal Gibbons High School has not lost an individual dual meet in 14 years, and his individual dual meet record is 301-12 (425-18 including dual meet tournaments). His list of accomplishments include the 2005 Miami Herald Male Coach of the Year for all sports, 8 times Miami Herald Wrestling Coach of the Year, 7 times Sun Sentinel Wrestling Coach of the Year, 2 time State 1A Coach of the Year and he was inducted into the NCAA Division III Hall of Fame in 2003.
