Ira Fleckman

Ira Fleckman is receiving the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award as a Coach / Official / Contributor.

He has been involved in wrestling on every level, including as an athlete at the University of Georgia and as a high school coach in Georgia, New York and Florida.

Ira also served as state chairman, secretary, kids director and officials director at the state level for the Florida Amateur Wrestling Association and the Amateur Athletic Union.

He has served on the coaching staff for the Florida National Team and as an assistant or head coach on cultural exchange teams, competing in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Japan.

Ira was state editor for Wrestling USA Magazine.

A dedicated wrestling official, his excellence in officiating qualified him to be a FILA official from 1990-94 and from 1999-2004. FILA is the international governing body for wrestling officials.

Ira has conducted officials clinics at regional and national events.

He served as a volunteer staff member for the 2003 World Wrestling Championships, held at Madison Square Garden in New York.
