Originally from Charles City, Iowa, Mike Duroe has a storied career in wrestling and he has made an impact wherever he has been.

USA Wrestling named Mike as the Resident Freestyle Coach and Head Women's National Coach in 2001.

Prior to that, Mike had served as USA Wrestling's Freestyle Developmental Coach since June of 1988.

Mike had the unique ability to work with both female and male athletes.

During Mike's tenure with the women's program, the USA produced three individual women's World Champions: Tricia Saunders, Sandy Bacher, and Kristie Marano Davis.

He served as the 1997 U.S. Pan American Championships freestyle wrestling team head coach, and that year his team placed second in team standings.

He was a member of the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Olympic team coaching staff.

He was also the coach of Northern Michigan University, where he coached 27 All-Americans and three national champions.

As an athlete, Mike was a two-time regional champion and three-time national place winner for Drake University. He served as Drake's team captain for three years and was inducted into the Drake Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Mike most recently served as the head coach at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
