Albert Campbell
Albert H. "Bo" Campbell "The Legend of the Skagit Valley" Fife High School Sedro-Woolley High School Burlington High School Bo Campbell is the legendary coach from the Skagit Valley. He began coaching at Fife High School in 1935. Following World War II he started a wrestling program at Sedro-Woolley High School in 1948. He was one of the few coaches at that time with a collegiate wrestling background. He was instrumental in helping high schools start wrestling programs. He also directed numerous clinics for coaches. In 1953, his Sedro-Woolley team won the first State Tournament in Washington State claiming 7 of the 11 championship matches. Coach Campbell moved to Burlington High School for the 1954-55 school year where he was the wrestling coach until retirement in 1971. During his coaching career, he won two state titles and coached fifteen state champions and twenty-five state place winners. Bo Campbell was inducted into the Washington State Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of fame at the first induction ceremonies in 1984. Bo was an orphan who never knew his family history. He and his wife, who preceded him in death, had no children. Coach Campbell passed away in 1995.
