Agie Skeens
November 21, 2025 - September 01, 1981
Ralph Agie Skeens played a pivotal role in the establishment and ascendance of the Grundy wrestling program.
As the father of six sons, at least one of whom was part of the team during 20 of its first 21 years, Skeens contributions were multifaceted. He significantly enhanced the development of Grundy Wrestling by providing essential financial, moral, and spiritual support to Grundy Wrestling. Notably, he was instrumental in acquiring two Resilite mats in the early 1970s, which allowed Grundy to host tournaments.
Skeens was a steadfast presence throughout as evidenced by his never missing a match or tournament and rarely missing a practice session. His influence was deeply felt during his lifetime and is profoundly missed to this day.
Since his passing in 1981, his wife Mildred, sons Tommy, Jerry, Eddie, Charles, and Robert, and daughter Margaret, have upheld his legacy of unwavering support for the program. Skeens legacy includes not only his children, but his grandchildren and great grandchildren who have continued to support and participate in the program.
