Mark Emick
Mark Emick wrestled for Northside High School in Roanoke where he was coached by Dr. Ken Shelton.
Emick attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, wrestling for one year before the program was disbanded in 1970.
As head coach of Lor Botetourt High School from 1971-79, his teams had a dual match record of 54-9-1, including an undefeated season in 1972-73, and consistently finished in the Top 10 at the AA State Tournament. Emick coached 22 individual state champions and countless state place-winners while having five wrestlers receive college wrestling scholarships.
Since 1979 Emick has organized and managed many scholastic wrestling tournaments while also participating in numerous wrestling clinics and training demonstrations.
Emick also assists in the coordination and announcing of the Virginia State A and AA wrestling tournaments.
