J. Carl Guymon

J. Carl Guymon covered wrestling in all facets of the media for the last 33 years. He has covered every NCAA Wrestling Tournament since 1973. Guymon covered wrestling on a full time basis for The Daily Oklahoman for 11 years and is currently serving as a columnist for Amateur Wrestling News. He has worked as a color commentator for Fox Sports at both the Big Ten and Big 12 Wrestling Championships. Guymon has been the voice of Oklahoma State wrestling for the past six years. If you ever have a question about scoring than Guymon is the person to ask. He corrected a scoring error at the 1978 NCAA Championships that prevented the wrong team from winning the trophy. Guymon helped develop a more effective team scoring system that went into effect in 2000 and is still in use today. He is currently an Estate Planner at Senior Benefit Services, while he still covers wrestling during the season. Guymon is married to his wife Marsha and has a daughter, Jae Jean Young and a son, Hunter.
