Tim Walsh

Tim's wrestling coaching career began in 1969 at Tabor Academy where he guided his teams to an incredible record of 63-7, two undefeated seasons and numerous Class A New England Prep School Championships. From Tabor Academy Tim went on the Robert Lewis Stevenson School then on to Amherst College, where he compiled a record of 41-25 and a national ranking. In 1980 Tim went on to coach at MIT where he compiled a record of 154-78. While at MIT, Tim's teams posted an impressive 15 consecutive winning seasons. Tim's team also produced the most Wrestling Scholar All-Americans in the country. Tim also took wrestling teams to Russia, Mexico and Japan and in 1990 he coached the USA National Wrestling Team against Armenia. In 1994 Tim went on to St Mark's School of Texas prior to returning to his original position at Tabor Academy.

Tim grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as the oldest of 10 children. Tim was a three sport athlete at the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey prior to receiving a scholarship to Hobart University where he was also three sport athlete competing as quarterback in football, wrestling and lacrosse. While a junior at Hobart Tim set a school record for wins and was selected as team captain both as junior and senior. While at Hobart Tim also led his lacrosse team to a national ranking and in his senior year received numerous awards for his athletic talents. Upon leaving Hobart, Tim went on to do graduate work at Oxford, received a Masters Degree from Wesleyan University and a Doctorate at University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Tim resides in Marion with his wife of twenty-two years, Meredith, and has two children. In his second tour of duty at Tabor, as well as coaching wrestling and football, Tim teaches history. Tim has returned to his winning ways. This year his team posted a 20-4 record and has been undefeated in the Class A New England Prep Conference the past two years.
