Walt started elementary wrestling at the Wilkes Barre YMCA in 1966.

He assisted many youth programs get started throughout the state of Pennsylvania to form the PENN Elementary Wrestling League.

While coaching numerous wrestlers that went on to be successful on the national level, Walt touched the lives of numerous young men at the beginning of their wrestling careers.

Walt, his wife Marianne and family relocated to Georgia in 1977.

Walt started the Gwinnett County Takedown Club to assist in the growth of wrestling.

He started numerous clubs along with being a co-founder of the Multi-County Wrestling Officials and the Metro Atlanta Wrestling Officials Association.

Was was a board member for the NWHOF-Georgia Chapter.

Walt will always be remembered for saying, "Give Back to Wrestling".
