Bey, Schultz to Make Fifth Senior Greco-Roman World Appearance for U.S.

The Greco-Roman group for Team USA at the 2026 Senior World Championships blends veteran experience with up-and-coming talent in its bid to end a four-year medal drought.

Six Americans have competed at a prior Senior Worlds, and nine hold age-group World Championships experience. None has a Senior World medal, but five have earned an age-group World medal.

The U.S. roster includes Cohlton Schultz, who was the Colorado and National winner of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2019.

USA Competes in 2026 Senior World Championships Oct. 24 to Nov. 1

Team USA heads to Astana, Kazakhstan, this week for the 2026 Senior World Championships, led by defending World champions Helen Maroulis, Kyle Snyder and Trent Hidlay.

Everest Leydecker was the Arizona winner of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award in 2026 while Marcus Blaze (Ohio and National in 2025), Wyatt Hendrickson (Kansas in 2019), Spencer Lee (Pennsylvania and Northeast Region in 2017), Zain Retherford (Pennsylvania and National in 2013) and Cohlton Schultz (Colorado and National in 2019) are all winners of the Hall of Fame's Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award.

Brisco Moves Into Advisory Role, Layfield Named President of Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum's George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame announced Wednesday that Gerry Brisco is stepping down as president of its board of directors and moving into an advisory role. John Bradshaw Layfield will replace Brisco as president, effective immediately. 

Brisco, who has served as president since the Hall of Fame's inception in 1999, guided the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame through its growth and development and helped establish it as one of the most respected professional wrestling halls of fame. 

Women’s College Notebook: Returning Champions and Talented Newcomers

As many as nine different women have the opportunity to win consecutive individual titles entering 2026-27, and because of the continued growth of women's wrestling, talented newcomers are also arriving on the scene.

The 2026 Galaxy U23 World Championships are currently underway in Las Vegas, and men’s freestyle action takes place October 16-18.

The U.S. squad is loaded as it looks to repeat as team champions, and college wrestling fans will recognize a lot of names, including National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award winners Jayden James and Aeoden Sinclair.

ESPN, FloSports Will Deliver Every National Duals Invitational Match Live

he National Duals Invitational, a groundbreaking $1 million collegiate wrestling event sponsored by Paycom, has announced that its championship match will air on ESPN on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. CST from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The nationally televised final will follow 27 duals streamed live on FloWrestling, ensuring wrestling fans nationwide have complete access to the high-stakes tournament on Dec. 12 and 13.

U.S. Set to Welcome World to Las Vegas for Galaxy U23 World Championships

Team USA is ready to welcome the world to the U.S. for the 2026 Galaxy U23 World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 12-18, at the Thomas & Mack Center. All three Olympic styles will take place, with Greco-Roman kicking off the action on October 12. Women’s freestyle begins October 14, and men’s freestyle starts October 16 to close out the week-long event.

The 30-person roster representing the U.S. on home soil features 2024 Olympic champion and two-time Senior World champion Amit Elor. The U23 World Championships will be Elor’s return to international competition since the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
