ANATALYA, Türkiye – The U.S. earned a trio of men’s freestyle medals on Saturday evening at the Yasar Dogu International, with Quincy Monday standing atop the 74 kg podium as tournament champion.

The New Jersey RTC product earned four impressive wins on his route to the gold medal—two came by fall and one by technical fall. In the championship match, Monday capitalized on a pair of single-leg attempts, shelving the leg on his finish each time, to grab a 5-2 win against 2024 U20 World champion Ali Abbas Rezaei Aghouzgeleh of İran.

Also in the 74 kg field for Team USA were two-time World medalist and seven-time U.S. World Team member James Green and Monday’s New Jersey RTC teammate, 2019 U20 World Team member Yahya Thomas. Both Green and Thomas dropped matches to Rezaei Aghouzgeleh, setting up a bronze medal match between the two Americans.

It was Green taking a competitive, 5-1 contest over Thomas in the 74 kg bronze medal bout. The match was knotted 1-1 at the break, a step-out point to each man. Green separated himself with a pair of clean takedowns in the latter stages of the second period.

Also finding a place on the podium for the U.S. was Beau Bartlett, who picked up a bronze medal at 65 kg. He went 3-1 on the day, with his only loss coming by 10-10 criteria to eventual silver medalist Oskonbai Abdullaevich Abdisamatov of Kyrgyzstan.

Bartlett put up three takedowns in a 6-1 decision over I. Isakov of Kyrgyzstan in the bronze medal match. It was a 2-1 match heading into the back half of the second period before Bartlett picked up the offense with a pair of scores to cement the win.

The tournament continues at 11 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET) with the remaining five men’s freestyle weights. Three Americans— Greg Kerkvliet, Jordan Wood and Christian Lance — will compete at 125 kg.
