Noel Loban

Won the 1980 NCAA national championship at 190 pounds for Clemson University and the 1977 NJCAA national championship at 177 pounds for Farmingdale State College.

He posted a perfect dual meet record for three seasons at Clemson and was a three-time ACC Finalist, winning the ACC Championships as a senior. Loban was Clemson's first NCAA Champion in an individual sport. In addition, he was part of the first recruiting class for the Clemson University wrestling program.

Britain’s first Black wrestler to medal at the Olympic Games, winning bronze in 1984. He also competed in the 1988 Olympics. He is the last Olympic medalist in wrestling for Great Brittan.

In 1987, finished fourth at the World Championships and second at the European Championships.

Gold medalist at 1986 Commonwealth Games and bronze medalist in 1994.

Loban competed on the international level from 1983-1990, where we won five British Senior National Championships. In 1983, he won the British National Championship at 100kg.
