Ron Jones
Coach Ron Jones has been the wrestling coach at Sarasota High School for 25 years. He has over 300 wins as a wrestling coach. His teams have won seven District Titles, two Regional Titles and have been FHSAA State Runner-up three times. He has coached 14 individual state champions and over 70 state place winners. He has represented the USA as a coach on 12 international tours. He has been to Cuba, Italy, South Africa, Finland, Bulgaria and Japan. Coach Jones coached Chris Hayward a high school All American and two time college All-American. He coached Travis Smith and Sean Hocker the first high school teammates ever on the Dapper Dan All-Star Team. Other notable wrestlers from his stable include Bubba Browning USAW All American, high school All American Sky Thacker. Alex Brown was a four-time Florida state high school place-winner who wrestled at Appalachian State.
