Spotlight on Class of 2018

Albert Pardo graduated from South Miami Senior in 1985 and from San Jose State University in 1992. He is Married to Tania Pardo and has three children Alexa, Albert, and Angelina. Albert coached for 28 years, 25 of those as head coach at the same school which he graduated from (South Miami Senior). He is very proud that he was never ejected nor were any of his wrestlers ever ejected from any tournament, match or event. His teams were never fined and his wrestlers rarely called for anything unsporting or otherwise, discipline was a big thing for him. Throughout his career, he has coached 7 F.H.S.A.A State Champions, 11 F.H.S.A.A Finalists, in addition to more than 30 other state placers. As a team they finished in the top 10 at the state tournament 7 times. In 2000, they were F.H.S.A.A. State runner up, they also finished 3rd in 2001 and 2003, and 4th,5th,7th,8th, and 9th in other seasons. The success of the great majority of his former wrestlers, being principals, entrepreneurs, school administrators, businessman, NFL and MMA agents, and best of all great family men and father’s, is more an indication to him of his impact and the importance of wrestling as a sport than any titles, championships, or accolades.

Our Mission: To honor the sport of wrestling by preserving its history, recognizing extraordinary individual achievements, and inspiring future generations
