The 2025 National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s Honors Weekend has come and gone.  Events took place on the campus of Oklahoma State University and in the Hall of Fame Museum.

Director Gary Townsend (2015) and Jane Townsend(2015) took care of business while representing  Florida at the state chapter’s conference .  They listened while the board detailed an exciting endowment program called  “Power Beyond”.  It provides a strong financial future for the Hall and its museums.  Our chapter has committed to an annual contribution.  Learn more here: https://youtu.be/eRUO10MX_YI

Gary and Jane took care of fun by following the lead of Bob Thomas (2017).  The welcome party was hosted by friends of wrestling, the Albright family.  Their historic stone barn was our venue for talking to heroes, hall of famers, future hall of famers and champions.  We met former OSU mascot, Pistol Pete and heard his very interesting story.  Attendees were treated to Iron Monk Brewery’s, the ‘Low Single Leg’, an American light lager inspired by John Smith.

Following Friday evenings plaque ceremony, Coach Thomas invited the Townsend’s to his  favorite watering hole, the Garage.  The best onion rings in all the Oklahoma territory were delivered by the best servers, Sophia, Cass and Elise.
