Florida Chapter

Official State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Honors Weekend 2024: Pressed Suits, Pressed Ties, and 7 Inductees that ImPRESSED

The big show descended once again upon the Wyndham at Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs.

The Florida Chapter, guided by Jane and Gary Townsend, along with a record 430 Honors Banquet attendees celebrated the 25th Anniversary with the appropriate pomp and circumstance.

The traditional parade of alumni (40) paved the way for the introduction of seven men prepared to take their place alongside the 151 chapter alumni.

In time honored fashion, emcee Robert Burns brought the crowd to its feet with his a capella rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

And so began a night of recognizing six for their "Lifetime of Service to Wrestling" and one as an "Outstanding American.".

Each enters with their own story and their own uniqueness.

Sal Basile is an accomplished drummer, Jim Dailey Jr. is well on his way to visiting every national park, Michael Graham showed up to every practice wearing his Metro Rail work clothes, Dan Moody had to trade his high school 'Vikings' helmet for 30 years as a Western 'Wildcat', Pat Ryan has nine brothers and sisters, Ryland Wagner can juggle and finally, Mike Pedersen was the official Miami area Burger King mascot.

What fun we had.

Our Mission: To honor the sport of wrestling by preserving its history, recognizing extraordinary individual achievements, and inspiring future generations
