National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Illinois Chapter Announces its Class of 2024

It is with great pleasure that the National Wrestling Hall of Fameโ€™s Illinois Chapter announces its Class of 2024.

The induction ceremony will be held on October 6 at the DoubleTree by Hilton-Alsip Hotel, 5000 W. 127th St., Alsip, Illinois.

United States Wins U20 Men's Freestyle World Championships

Finishing with nine medals, the U.S. won the 2024 U20 World Championships team.

Luke Lilledahl won gold while Josh Barr, Ben Kueter, Ladarion Lockett and Zack Ryder earned silver and Bo Bassett, Marcus Blaze, PJ Duke and Justin Rademacher won bronze.

It was a day to remember for the U.S. menโ€™s freestyle team at the U20 World Championshipsโ€”Luke Lilledahl earned his second age-group World title, five Americans scored a medal, and five more found a place in a medal match.

Robinson Wins U20 World Gold; U.S. Women Finish 3rd

The U.S. women picked up their fourth medal at the 2024 U20 World Championships with Jasmine Robinson pinning her way to gold at 72 kg. The finals win by Robinson was instrumental for the U.S. finishing in third place as a team.

Cristelle Rodriguez powered to a 58-second pin, becoming the first U20 World champion for Team USA while Alexis Janiak earned silver and Naomi Simon battled back for a bronze medal.

Order of Merit Recipient Fritz McGinness Passes Away

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame was saddened to learn that Fritz McGinness, who received the Order of Merit award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1999, passed away on August 31, at the age of 89.
