POQUOSON, Va. — It should come as no surprise to anyone who's followed Poquoson High wrestling over the years that Ross Graham and Patrick McCormick are making history by becoming the first pair in the 30 years of Daily Press All-Stars to share the Wrestler of the Year honor. Making wrestling history, after all, is what the Grahams and McCormicks have been all about.

Their fathers, Casey Graham and Mike McCormick (pictured middle), were three-time Group AA state champions as teammates in 1983-85 for the Islanders. Mike McCormick and his father, Pat McCormick (pictured left), had distinguished refereeing careers that landed them in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, which awarded its Order of Merit to Casey's father, John Graham (pictured right), for myriad contributions to the sport that include developing the Virginia Duals and helping organize the Peninsula Wrestling Association.

Ross Graham and Patrick McCormick have added to their families' legacies by winning multiple Group 3A state titles. Ross Graham, a senior, won his third consecutive state crown in Salem in February, shortly after sophomore Patrick McCormick added the 113-pound title to the 106-pound gold he won as a freshman.
