New Jersey Chapter Banquet Will Be September 28
The New Jersey Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced that it will present the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award to six honorees at 1 p.m. on September 28 at the Westin Hotel in Princeton, New Jersey.
The honorees are:
Joe Forte, high school wrestling coach for 22 years, wrestling official for 21 years and 15 years as a member of the Region 5 ranking committee
Ron Hamrick a two-time Eastern Regional champion and member of the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame (22 winning seasons)
Carmine Rossi, a member of the Roxbury High School Hall of Fame, the Region I Hall of Fame, the State Wrestling Officials Association and the New Jersey Wrestling Coaches Association
Doug Bower, a Harry E. Lake award winner for “Outstanding Contribution to Wrestling in New Jersey” and a member of the Region 6 Hall of Fame who, among his many contributions, created, seeding criteria for the state tournament
Edward Gibbons, who coached Caldwell High School 17 years and is a member of the Region 4 Wrestling Hall of Fame and the State Wrestling Hall of Fame Executive Board
Alexander George Sidar Jr. (Deceased), who officiated the state finals for 17 years and was the recipient of the prestigious Richard C. Mirshak Excellence in Officiating award while also wrestling in high school and at Rutgers University and helping coach at the State University and reestablished the wrestling program at Gill-St. Bernard's School.
The Class of 2025 will be joined by inductees from the previous 23 classes.
