Indian Hills Ranked First, Umpqua Ranked Second In First Women's Community College National Poll

Defending Junior College National champion Indian Hills CC of Iowa is the No. 1 ranked team in the first Women’s Community College national rankings of the 2021-22 season.

Indian Hills CC has three No. 1 ranked wrestlers, all in the lightest weight classes: Mya Tunmire (101), Chloe Clemons (109) and Heaven-Leigh Jackson (116).

Clemons and Jackson were both Junior College national champions last year, with Jackson winning the 109-pound Junior College National title, while Clemons was the 123-pound national champion.

Rounding out the top five teams are No. 2 Umpqua CC of Oregon, No. 3 Big Bend CC of Washington, No. 4 Grays Harbor College of Washington and No. 5 Southwestern Oregon CC.

Joining Clemons and Jackson as 2021 Junior College champions with No. 1 rankings this year are Melissa Ritchie of Southwestern Oregon CC at 123 pounds, Krista Warren of Southwestern Oregon CC at 143 pounds and Quinn Lacey of Grays Harbor College at 235 pounds.

This year’s Junior College National Championships for women’s wrestling will be held at Umpqua CC in Roseburg, Ore., February 19-20. The individual national tournament is set for February 19, with the dual meet national tournament to be held on February 20.
