Haselrig inducted as Distinguished Member

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - There was one last stop for Carlton Haselrig as far as his collegiate wrestling career is concerned.
The only six-time NCAA wrestling champion – three times each in Division I and II – in history, reached that destination on Saturday as he accepted induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
According to Haselrig, it had a familiar feel.
“Now it’s official,” Haselrig said after the ceremony. “I’m very happy. I’m very pleased. I feel at home. Like this all one big family. That’s what wrestling is. It’s like you’re at a family reunion and the family gave you an award. I feel very happy.”
His coach at Pitt-Johnstown, Pat Pecora, was also at the event, which also honored Brandon Slay, William (Bill) Harlow, John Richard (Dick) Wilson, Randy Bortles, Joseph Galli Jr., Marcia Haise and Ron Good.
“This is the highest honor of all for any wrestler,” Pecora said.
