Known primarily for his wild and rowdy antics during his starring days in the WWF and WCW, Roddy Piper won as many titles as any wrestler since World War II. Often entering the ring wearing a kilt, he was one of the most popular stars of the WWF television era. Roddy wrestled over 7,000 matches and won nearly 40 titles. He has worked with the biggest names in the business, from Lou Thesz, to Hulk Hogan to Bret Hart. His talk show, Piper’s Pit, was hugely successful in the 1980s and he is regarded as one of the best interviews in wrestling history. He appeared in dozens of films and television shows, and in 2001 wrote his autobiography, entitled “In the Pit with Piper: Roddy Goes Rowdy.” A native of Canada who lives in Portland, Oregon, Roddy has a strong background in amateur wrestling and martial arts. “Roddy is a tough guy who can really wrestle,” said Judo Gene LeBell, Frank Gotch Award winner in 2005. “He can take care of himself, believe me. He belongs in this hall of fame, for sure.”
