Tom Kettman

Tom Kettman was head coach of Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, Iowa for 11 years.

He led his teams to 12 state team titles, winning five straight traditional titles from 2006 to 2010 and seven dual team titles, 2001, 2005 and five straight from 2006 to 2010. His teams also had runner-up finishes at the traditional state tournament in 2002, 2003 and 2011 and at the state dual team tournament in 2001, 2003 and 2011.

Kettman had 89 individual state qualifiers with 66 place-winners and 17 state champions. His 17 state champions included four-time winners Mack Reiter (2000-03) and Bart Reiter (2006-09), and his son, Taylor Kettman (2010).

Besides the excellence on the mat, Kettman points with pride to the academic excellence his teams achieved, plus goal setting, hard work, the importance of family and respect all of which make a difference in a young person's life.

Kettman was named the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2011 and was nominated for the National Coach of the Year in 2007, 2008 and 2011.

He is also a member of the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame.
