James Husk

Coach Husk started coaching in 1964 at Archbishop Curley High School in Miami. During the next five years the state was set for the accomplishments of Coach Husk. His teams won 54 meets while losing only 8 times and coached 10 state champions. In 1969 Coach Husk went to Southwest Miami High School where his success continued. After posting a record of 98-22-1 and crowning 6 more state champs he became coach at Miami Southridge High School where he is still coaching. During his 24-year tenure as coach at Southridge his teams have amassed a record of 365 wins and 33 loses with 3 ties and 27 state champions. During the last 36 years, Coach Husk has been honored by many organizations but two of his honors, which stand out, are being names Coach of the Year in the State of Florida 8 times and twice being named Region 3 National High School "Coach of the Year".
