Ed Ewoldt

Officially known as the "State Historian," Ed Ewoldt coached at Wheaton Central High School for 14 years, compiling a 125-50 record while winning conference and district championships and leading his team to runner-up finish at the Illinois High School Association state wrestling tournament in 1966.

He was a Illinois Wrestling Federation team leader from 1979 to 1989 and made trips to New York in 1979, China in 1985 and Germany in 1987.

Ewoldt was inducted into the National Junior College Hall of Fame in 1992 and named the Illinois Man of the Year by Wrestling USA Magazine in 1991.

He was honorary chairman of the 1985 World Cup and honorary director for the 1994 World Cadet Championships.
