Four-time Oklahoma state high school champion for Edmond High School and three-time national champion for the University of North Carolina. 

After competing at Oklahoma State as a freshman, transferred to UNC and won national titles in 1993, 1994 and 1995 when he was also named Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAA tournament. 

The first three-time wrestling national champion from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Three-time ACC champion and was named ACC Wrestler of the Year in 1995.

First-ever recipient of WIN Magazine’s Dan Hodge Trophy in 1995.

Selected to the ACC 50th Anniversary Top 50 Male Athletes in 2003.
