Brett Stamm won NCAA Division III national titles in 1980 as a sophomore at 167 pounds and in 1982 as a senior at 177 pounds. He also placed fourth as a freshman in 1979 and as a junior in 1981 to be a four-time All-American.

A three-time College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin champion, Stamm was also awarded a NCAA post-graduate scholarship for his master's work at Augustana University.
