Marissa Gallegos
Marissa has always been an excellent student and is a great person that cares about others. Marissa's freshman year her record was 25-11, placing fifth at regionals. Unfortunately, she had shoulder surgery as a sophomore, preventing her from competing. During Marissa's junior year she was in and out of the varsity lineup. Nevertheless, she took the Girls State Championship title. She wrestled with boys on varsity her Junior and Senior years. Marissa was backup to two wrestlers on the team that took second and third in state her Junior and Senior year. This year, her senior year, Marissa's record was 18-3; those three losses being to boys. She won the Girls State Championship title for the second year in a row and became a two-time Fargo All-American. Marissa is such a great inspiration to other girls and guys in and out of the wrestling room. Carrying a 4.0 grade point average in her high school classes, her commitment to school and wrestling will continue on to Wayland Baptist College next year, where she will wrestle and major in pre-med. Her dedication to school and wrestling is an inspiration to all.
