Bob Hartley

Bob has been a coach (16 years) and official (26 years) in Polk County, as well as assisting in organizing and running the FHSAA State Finals for over 10 years. He hosted the first-ever FHSAA Officials clinic and was the 2004-05 NFHS and FHSAA Wrestling Official of the Year for Florida. Most people know Bob as the long-time coach at Auburndale High School, where his team won the 1990 and 1992 FHSAA State Championship. In addition to Auburndale HS, he also had coaching stints at Southwest Junior High, Winter Haven High School and Lakeland High School. Over the course of his coaching career, Coach Hartley's teams had an overall record of 203-28, 11 County Championships, 11 District Championships, 2 Region Champions, and produced 18 State Place winners and 7 State Champions. Several of his former wrestlers have gone on to serve Florida wrestling as coaches (18) and officials (27), including his son. While he may be best known for his coaching, he has also been an outstanding official for over 26 years. He's been a Board Member of the Lake Region Wrestling Officials Association for nearly 20 years and has officiated several State Championship Tournaments. Bob is married to wife Jo Ann, and has four sons: Dak, Brett, Brian and Robby.
