William Dudley

February 27, 1944 - April 08, 2024

Coach Bill Dudley spent his entire 35-year career at Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, beginning as an assistant coach and then becoming head coach.

He has a 337-143-3 career record as a head coach, having only one losing season over that time span.

He had one state champion (Phil Rizzo), 14 individual state place-winners and over 75 state qualifiers.

Coach Dudley also helped form the St. Petersburg City Championship tournament.

Fourteen of his former wrestlers went on to compete at the collegiate level, and nine have become high school coaches.

He was elected to the Northeast High School Hall of Fame in 2010, and has served as a member of the St. Petersburg City Council since 2007.

He and his wife, Michelle, have a daughter, Jennifer, and a son, Bill Jr.
