Brad Metzler
Representing the Northern Plains Region, Omaha-Westside High School's Brad Metzler amassed a career record of 120-0, including 90 falls, en route to becoming the first wrestler in Nebraska history to conclude his high school career with an unblemished ledger. Metzler won his four state titles in dominating fashion, giving up only one takedown in four years and earning Outstanding Wrestler honors four times. In addition, he has not lost a match in his home state in 10 years. Metzler also competed as a member of Westside's cross country team and has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for Stanford University next year. For his efforts, Metzler received the Nebraska Athletic Hall of Fame� "Special Moment in History" award and was tabbed as the Greater Omaha Sports Committee� "2000 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year." In 1996 and 1997, Metzler was a member of the Nebraska Cadet National Team and was a Cadet Greco-Roman national champion in 1997. Carrying a 3.86 GPA, Metzler was named a 2000 High School All-American and his school� "Outstanding Boy of the Year." The National Honor Society member is also active in Key Club, Forum, Student Advisory Club, Math Club and Boys and Girls Club of Omaha.
