Daniel Lewis was a four-time Missouri state wrestling champion with a career record of 186-4 for Blue Springs High School.

He had a perfect 45-0 record as a senior with every win being either a pin or a technical fall and none of his matches reaching the third period. Lewis was also undefeated as a junior with a 46-0 record.

Lewis became the first wrestler in school history to win four state titles. He won his title at 103 pounds as a freshman, at 126 pounds as a sophomore, at 138 pounds as a junior and at 160 pounds as a senior. Lewis became only the second wrestler in state history to win in four different weight classes with the first being J'den Cox.

He was named the Kansas City Star's All-Metro Wrestler of the Year in 2014 while also being named wrestler of the year by The Examiner in 2013 and 2014.

Lewis earned All-America honors at Fargo with a third-place finish as a junior, and finished seventh at the FILA Junior Freestyle National Championships in 2014.
