Mitch Sliga was a two-time Indiana state wrestling champion and had a career record of 178-4, including 99 consecutive wins, for Fishers High School.

He had a pin or tech fall against every opponent he faced but one as a senior and was named Super Team Wrestler of the Year by the Indianapolis Star in 2013. He was a four-time state place-winner and a four-time regional, sectional and conference champion. Sliga was team captain and a three-time team MVP in wrestling while also playing fullback on the football team for one season.

Sliga won the 2013 Junior Freestyle Nationals and finished fifth at the 2012 Cadet World Championships. He was a USA Wrestling Triple Crown winner in 2012 and a four-time Fargo national champion.

He posted the highest GPA on the wrestling team for three years and was junior academic all-state.
