Robert Siar
Robert Siar has worked in several capacities for the sport of wrestling: official, coach and contributor. He is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and taught 42 years in the Pennsylvania Public Schools, coaching 29 of those years. In 1974 he was selected as the WPIAI Coach of the Year and his team won the WPIAL title for the first time in the school's history.
He was a PIAA wrestling official from 1963 to 1980 and was selected as the Pennsylvania Wrestling Official of the Year in 1984 and Wrestling Man of the Year in 1985. In 1995 he was named USWOA Official of the Year. Siar is a USWOA Category I EXCEPTIONNELLE Official and a FILA International Wrestling Official. He has officiated every NE Junior Championship since 1977 and all but one NE Kids/Cadet Tournament since the start of competition.
He has chaired many USWOA Committees and served as Secretariat to several international events, including the 1996 and the upcoming 2000 Olympic Games. He has been honored by FILA for outstanding contributions. For his outstanding service to others he has received numerous "Outstanding Official" and "Outstanding Contributions" awards.
