Jake Deitchler

Three-time Minnesota state champion and five-time state place-winner for Anoka High School, alma mater of National Wrestling Hall of Fame Distinguished Members Dan Chandler and Brandon Paulson and Dave Hazewinkel and Jim Hazewinkel, who all competed in the Olympics in Greco-Roman.

Represented the United States in Greco-Roman at the 2008 Olympic Games, becoming the first high school wrestler to make the U.S. Olympic team since Mike Farina in 1976.

Deitchler had high school career record of 201-38, including 125-1 over his last three seasons, and was Minnesota’s Mr. Wrestling in 2007 and 2008.

He wrestled at the University of Minnesota before retiring in 2012 after being advised by medical professionals that it was in his best interest not to continue his wrestling career due to his history with concussions.
