Mike Netherclift

Mike attended, wrestled for and graduated from Bradenton Southeast High School in 1973. He went on with his education and graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education. In 1982 he returned to UF and received a Master's in Physical Education. He received a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova University in 2000. He was Director of Intramural Fraternity League at University of Florida and awarded Outstanding Intramural Athlete at UF in 1982. Mike is very active in his home church and the missions they support. He and his daughter Kailah, and son Skyler reside in Ocala, Florida. He has been employed as a Marion County Public School Teacher for over 26 years. Mike started out as an assistant wrestling coach at Lake Weir High School and became their head coach in 1985. During his time there as coach, he produced 20 or more state qualifiers and produced 2 State Champion Wrestlers. As an official, he has received recognition for continues service by FHSAA for 25 years service and was awarded Outstanding Official at multiple invitational tournaments between 1998 and 2007. During his career, he has embodied Florida Wrestling as a wrestling coach and later as a distinguished official. He has been the guest speaker and clinician at multiple FHSAA State field clinics. Because of his Lifetime Service to the sport or wrestling, we are honored the have Mike Nethercllift inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum through the Florida Chapter.
