Brueser has taught school in Fairfax County since 1977, which is the same year that he joined the Northern Virginia Wrestling Officials Association. He has served in multiple roles with the NVWOA, including as president from 1986-2003. Brueser worked diligently to implement technology into the NVWOA. He was instrumental in the organization’s website, nvwoa.org, which provides the latest Virginia High School League and National Federation news for officials.

He has worked 17 regional tournaments 5 AA state tournaments and 12 AAA state tournaments as an official.

He continues to work with the association as a technology consultant, understanding that the temptation to put on the zebra shirt and whistle still beckons … one never knows.
