Bill Conrad
Deceased The former longtime Kennewick head coach has given nearly half a century to the sport of wrestling. During his 36 year teaching career he was Kennewick's head coach for 29 years until retiring in 1991 then continued there as an assistant coach. Conrad graduated from Kennewick High School in 1951 and Central Washington University. He began his teaching career in the fall of 1955 at Moses Lake Junior High, moved to Warden for five years beginning in 1957 and then back to his alma mater Kennewick High School for the bulk of his coaching career. Conrad coached numerous sports, taught physical education, social studies, science and mathematics and was a department head and athletic director. In wrestling he coaches 17 top eight state team placings including three team titles and 21 individual state champions. Former Lions, Darrell and Dwayne Keller, were two-time NCAA Champions at Oklahoma State. Inducted into the Washington State Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001, he served on numerous wrestling boards and committees. Bill and wife Dolores, married 53 years, have two children.
