A 2004 graduate of Absegami High School, Ryan Goodman was a two-time New Jersey state high school champion and a four-time state place-winner.

He closed out career with 72 consecutive wins to bring career total to 145 wins, at the time a state record.

Goodman was a three-time District 32 champion and a three-time Region 8 winner.

He won and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the Beast of the East tournament.

Enrolled at the University of Nebraska, where he redshirted in wrestling and was a backup quarterback in football.

Goodman transferred to North Carolina State where wrestled and was a three-year varsity player in football.

He was a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference champion, earning Outstanding Wrestler honors both years, and three-time finalist while qualifying for the NCAA Championships three times.
