Ryan Smith was the first three-time Oregon state wrestling champion for Crook County High School in Prineville, Oregon.

He had a career record of 157-7, including 41-0 as a senior when he won the Class 5A title at 160 pounds.

Smith was a finalist at the 2006 Junior Freestyle National Championships and placed third at the Greco-Roman national tournament.

He was named to the Wrestling USA Magazine's and Asics High School All-American teams in 2007.
