Brian Gossett earned his first head coaching job 25 years ago at Heritage High. After stops at McMinn Central and Greenback Brian has steered Alco High for the last 18 years. During that time he has compiled

·       529 dual meet victories

·       eight Region Dual Championships

·       three top four State Dual finishes

·       and two State Traditional runner up finishes.

Brian coached 49 state medalists including 14 individual titles highlighted by 4x champion Sammy Evans (here tonight) and 3x champion Karim Shereef.

Brian’s community leadership is fostered from skills learned as an Eagle Scout. He helped organize middle school and youth wrestling in Blount County. He is on the State TACA Advisory Committee and is TACA Coaches’ Meeting Director. And now he joins the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Tennessee Chapter Class of 2026.
