Lloyd Moe

Few individuals have impacted Idaho wrestling from as many perspectives as Lloyd Moe. During a career spanning more than three decades, Moe served as an educator, coach, youth wrestling advocate, and highly respected wrestling official.

After competing at Libby High School in Montana, Moe became a teacher in Idaho’s Lakeland School District and devoted countless hours to youth and middle school wrestling programs. His most notable contribution was founding the “Battle of the North” youth wrestling initiative in 1998, which introduced more than 1,000 young athletes to the sport.

As an official, Moe worked 23 seasons, including 15 Idaho State Championships and numerous premier events throughout the Northwest. His commitment to fairness, professionalism, and mentorship helped elevate wrestling across North Idaho and earned him widespread respect throughout the wrestling community.
