Tom Bluhm - Lifetime Service Award

Key points:

  1. 1. Wrestling Career: Bluhm wrestled at Fordson High School and

    Eastern Michigan University, a Michigan AAU Championship, and

    serving as team captain.

    2. Coaching Achievements: He coached high school wrestling for 55

    years (1 at Romulus, 5 Taylor Center and 49 Trenton H.S. ) with an

    overall record 893-472-4. Tom is still active as a coach. His teams

    consistently rank high in league, district, regional, and state

    competitions. He coached 3 state champions, 42 state placers, and 108 state

    qualifiers.

    3. Educational Leadership: Bluhm worked for 38 years in the Taylor

    Public School System, retiring as principal of John F. Kennedy High

    School in 2009. He holds a BS. in Industrial Arts and a Master's in

    Secondary Curriculum and Educational Leadership,

    4- Community Involvement: He has been active in the Fordson Varsity

    Alumni Club for 53 years, and served as President in 1984,

    supporting athletics and scholarships for students.

    Recognition: Bluhm has been named Regional Coach of the Year 8

    times and has led multiple times to Academic All-State Honors.
