Treavor Erney
Treavor Erney launched his wrestling career at Maine-Endwell High School under Hall of Fame coach Fred Marcello, where he quickly emerged as one of the programs and section’s all-time greats. Marcello stated, “Treavor was multi-year team captain who brought out the best in his teammates”. A four-time Section IV finalist and three-time champion, who placed third at the NYPHSAA twice, becoming Maine-Endwell’s first-ever State Champion in 1984—back when the tournament crowned just one winner per weight class statewide. Treavor graduated with a record of 137–12, setting the Section IV career wins mark at the time.
Continuing at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Treavor earned two varsity letters and was a member of Army’s 1987 team that captured the program’s first—and only—EIWA Championship. Coach Ed Steers praised him as “a leader of leaders” on a squad that also won three New York State Collegiate titles. Steers added that “Treavor and his teammates were a special group.” Treavor further distinguished himself by routinely being in the top 5% in physical fitness and on the Dean’s list.
Commissioned as a U.S. Army Aviation officer in 1989, Treavor distinguished himself in leadership, academics, and fitness, graduating with honors from officer basic training and rotary wing aviation school. He earned his Army Aviator wings, Parachutist, and Air Assault badges, serving seven years in leadership and operational positions in active duty and the National Guard in Attack Helicopter, Air Cavalry, and Airlift units.
Following military service, Treavor built a 30-year track record of leadership in the medical device and services industry, holding positions from sales director to CEO across both private firms and Fortune 100 companies. In 2010, he founded Flexx Medical Solutions, specializing in biologics, orthopedics, and spine technologies.
Passionate about giving back to the sport that shaped him, Treavor helps lead the growth of wrestling in Washington, D.C. as a year-round volunteer with Wrestling to Beat the Streets DC. He serves as volunteer head coach at HD Woodson High School, one of eight public schools where wrestling was reintroduced in 2021 after a 30-year absence. He is a volunteer with the Honor Flight Network, an active supporter of the Army West Point wrestling program and is the current President of USA Wrestling DC.
Treavor and his wife, Shari, lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
