Paul Triplett

Paul started his wrestling career in the 5 grade with the Edmondson Heights Recreational council in the 75 Ib weight class. As much as he liked the sport, he says that he wasn't very good and only won one match that year. From 1976 to 1979 he wrestled for Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore City.

Paul won the MSA Tournament twice in 1978 and 1979, and was named a high school All-American, which allowed him to compete in Germany. During his junior year Paul came in second place at the National Prep Tournament. After leaving St Joe, Paul was a starter for the University of Maryland where he placed either 2nd & 3rd in each of his four years in the ACC Tournament.

Paul won the 190lb weight class. Paul's induction into coaching was at Bishop Ireton High School in VA where it only took him two years to turn the program into a success by winning their conference. The same year he coached this first of many National Prep School Champions. (Seven more he later coached at MSJ).

After his departure from Bishop Ireton, Paul landed a teaching and coaching position at his alma mater Mount Saint Joseph High School, where he mentored for 10 years.

He saw his teams win 4 National Prep titles and come in 2" twice. Paul also coached the Gales to 10 consecutive MSA/MIAA championships from 1987 to1997. Paul took over the position of Athletic Director from 1993 to 2006.
