Tom Prichard

Tom Prichard is one of professional wrestling’s most influential trainers, whose dedication to teaching and mentoring has shaped the careers of countless stars across multiple generations. With a profound understanding of the sport and a passion for developing talent, Prichard has become a cornerstone of professional wrestling’s future.

Hailing from El Paso, Texas, Prichard enjoyed a successful in-ring career, competing in major promotions such as WWE, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and the USWA. A technically sound and charismatic performer, he achieved success as both a singles and tag team competitor. However, his greatest contributions to the sport have come from his work outside the ring.

As a trainer, Prichard has played a pivotal role in developing some of wrestling’s biggest names. From his time as WWE’s Head Trainer, where he helped establish the developmental system, to his co-founding of the Jacobs-Prichard Wrestling Academy, his teachings have influenced stars such as The Rock, Kurt Angle, and many others. Known for his deep knowledge, hands-on approach, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Prichard continues to elevate the next generation of wrestlers.

The Verne Gagne Trainer Award honors individuals who have made a significant impact on professional wrestling through their work as trainers. Tom Prichard’s exceptional legacy as a mentor and leader makes him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum's TNTHOF proudly recognizes his contributions to the sport.
